Here's a brief synopsis of the act.
What is the Corporate Transparency Act?
The CTA, enacted in 2021, is designed to combat illicit activities such as tax fraud, money laundering, and terrorism financing. It requires certain U.S. businesses meeting specific criteria to submit a
Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) Report to the U.S. Department of Treasury's
Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). This report provides details identifying individuals associated with the reporting company.
What You Need to Do: We advise you to contact your CPA and/or attorney to understand how the CTA may impact your business. For more information you can visit the
FinCEN website.
